Heat Wave
For the past two weeks, the weather gurus have been saying it will rain this weekend. I’m a tough Oregonian, so I was prepared for that. I plan to go camping this weekend, and I’ve had my warm, waterproof clothing set out for a while.
Yesterday, they changed their minds and tell me it will be in the triple-digits all weekend.
What happened and why are they changing their story now? I trusted them, and I want my gloomy, soggy weather report back. I expected clouds and mud and cold and frustration, how can they ask me to cope with clear skies, warm weather, and a dry campground?
How often does this happen to you? You plan for a product release date and have to push it back due to internal delays. Or while building the red widget you promised you have to switch to blue paint for some reason. Or … something else changes and you have to pause, rally, and reorganize your effort.
It happens all the time; oddly enough, even when a change is for the better, there will still be a customer or two who complain. What can we do to make these select few happy with the end product?
