In honor of Memorial Day, I will be taking the day off.
I’m normally up and out of bed a little before 6. Then I’m done with breakfast and out the door by 7. This gives me plenty of time to get a good start on the day and be awake and alert for work. But not today. Today I’m taking a family member to the airport … and it’s way too early.
The “official” rules for the 30 Days of Blogging allow for one rest day within the month of December. Assuming you write a new post every other day of the month, you’re still technically writing 30 posts within a month, even if they’re not consecutive. Since many people will be busy on the 25th, I recommended that they take Christmas as their rest day. It’s later in the month and shows more promise of not knocking anyone off the wagon.
I’ve never quite understood the phenomenon. People will wake up uncharacteristically early and sit outside in the cold and rain to wait for stores to open (again, uncharacteristically early) to shell out cash on so-called “great deals.” Given, many of these sales and discounts are pretty steep, but that doesn’t necessarily justify the 4am rush.
Some time ago, I participated in an event dubbed the “30 Days of Blogging.” It was an informal challenge between friends to post fresh content each day for 30 consecutive days. I had a lot of fun, unfortunately the challenge was somewhat disorganized and most everyone dropped out by the end of the first week.
