30 Days of Blogging
Last night heralded the end of another fantastic year of NaNoWriMo. I struggled at the end, having hit a horrendous case of writer’s block, but managed to complete my story. It was fraught with frustration, but I know deep down I enjoyed the contest and that I’ll compete again next year.
In the meantime, though, there’s another contest I’d like to draw your attention to: the 30 Days of Blogging.
For 30 consecutive days in the month of December, I will strive to post at least 300 words of new content on this site. That’s a total of 9,000 or more new words for all of you to read. Really, I think it will be harder on your end to keep up with me than it will be for me to keep writing. After all, I just finished a contest requiring 50,000 words in a month. Nine thousand should be a breeze!
In any case, I hope to cover several things over the next several days. Among the most important are new ideas regarding social media, marketing, and the place of both industries in the market. I’ve become a bit frustrated with the way we approach the ambiguous thing that is “branding” as well, so I hope to touch again on both what branding is and why it’s important.
Finally, I want to talk a bit about entrepreneurship and small business ownership. I’ve been running my own company for over a year now and I want to share lessons learned, small business best practices, and discuss what I see the future of Jumping Duck Media being as well.
From time to time, I know I might run out of compelling new content to share with you. Rather than boring you with mindless drivel, though, I will try to apply some of my more abstract theories to case studies so we can gauge together whether or not they’re feasible.
It looks to be an interesting month!
