Much Needed Makeover

Last night I launched the latest greatest version of the Mindshare Strategy blog theme.  This is merely the first iteration of the new design, but hopefully it speaks volumes about things to come.Mindshare Strategy Theme

I’m still in the process of developing a few more custom widgets for the sidebar to improve Twitter and Facebook integration.  The goal is that this site should be fully interactive, giving you immediate access to everything I’ve written both here and elsewhere.  At the moment, what you see here is limited to what’s available through other developers.  That will change soon, but I have a handful of other priorities to address first.

In any case, I’ve now launched what will be, for at least the foreseeable future, the final designs for all three of my sites.  Prose Painting resembles the notebook portfolio of its creative nature.  My professional portfolio has a clean new skin that better highlights my past and present work.  Finally, Mindshare Strategy has a clean look to reflect the growing quality of my content and the future directions in which I hope to move.

Now that I’ve had time to finish these few personal projects, I’ll have more time available to tackle client projects.  Up next on the list are three present web/marketing clients.  These guys pay, so please forgive me for giving them the majority of my attention.  However, I won’t completely neglect the open source community.

I’m planning a new release of JS Banner Rotate within the next few months.  It will reflect my growing skills as a developer and present a new design aesthetic as well.  To put my ‘pro bono’ open source clients on the same playing field as paying clients, I’ll be integrating a new paid feature as well.  The basic plug-in will still be free, but you’ll be able to purchase a premium add-on for a one time fee of $0.99.  This small fee helps me justify future versions by creating revenue, but hopefully it won’t be so prohibitive as to prevent people from buying it.

I’ll experiment with new ways to keep the rent paid as time goes on.  For now, though, enjoy the new view and let me know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see me put together.
