When I started this blog over two years ago, there was actually a pool about whether or not I’d be able to keep it up through the end of grad school.  I had started the site to help myself air out different business-related theories and concepts, and most people thought I’d burn out before too long.  There were times I’ve wanted to quit, I’ll admit, but I never succumbed to that desire. One hundred thousand

Since I started this site, we’ve talked about a lot.  Movies.  Television.  Successful advertising.  Failed advertising.  Football.  Sex.  Politics.  School.  Just about everything you can think of (besides religion).  My original goal was to avoid three topics like the plague: sex, politics, and religion.  Well, I had an entire series on sex, so that’s out the window.  I’ve kept a pretty tight rein on politics, though.  And religion has been all but absent so far.

Today, though, is a momentous occasion.  No, I’m not abandoning the site.  No, I’m not changing my update schedule again.  Today marks the 100,000th word contributed to Mindshare Marketing.  This is such an accomplishment that I wanted to share a few brief stats with you:

  • Site launched: July 10th, 2007
  • First word: “I” (Wow, that’s self-serving”)
  • First redesign: September 14th, 2007
  • First book published: May 2008

Currently I’m deep in the throes of redesigning the site once again while also working to finish up my long-drawn-out book on using sex to inspire sales techniques.  I’m hoping both will be done by the end of the year, and you’ll certainly be the first to know about it.

But now, without further adieu, the official Mindshare Marketing 100,000th word was: “now.”  I bolded and italicized the word near the beginning of the sentence just so you could see it.

Here’s to another 100,000 words dedicated to marketing!
