This past weekend, I had the opportunity to go hiking a bit just outside of Portland. I went with my parents out to Broughton Bluff at Lewis and Clark State Park. It’s off I-84 right next to the Sandy River. The park is gorgeous; lots of fields, great interpretive signs about the Pacific Northwest, and, of course, the bluff.
It’s a big hill in the park with hiking trails that go right to some awesome rock climbing at the top. I forgot to bring my camera, but here’s a quick pic I snapped with my cell phone from the top of one of the rocks. I snuck up the back side so I could get a better view of the route some climbers were working on.
I actually plan to go back up there this week. The weather’s great for climbing right now, and I want to take advantage of the opportunity to climb there now rather than waiting until next summer and hoping for nice weather.
