Yup, I’ve finally made the decision. I’m going to put together my long-anticipated book on branding. I can’t give you an ETA just yet, but I do expect to be done with it some time this summer. As such you can expect two things from the near future:
- The quality of my posts will improve as I test new book content on you (exciting, no?)
- I will be seeking some suggestions on cover design fairly soon
Really, what does a brand look like? I absolutely refuse to have a collage of logos on the cover; I want to encapsulate the entirety of “brand” in one image, if that’s at all possible.
If you were to publish a book on brand, what would your cover look like? If you were to publish a book on your business in general, what would your cover look like?
Also, I am now taking requests for chapters. If there’s something I’ve scratched the surface of but you want to read more, let me know and I’ll see what I can do. If there’s something I haven’t addressed that you’d like to read about, let me know.
How important is word of mouth marketing? If you’re familiar with my recent situations with Network Solutions, then you’ll know that, to me, word of mouth marketing is everything. But why?
Last night, I sacrificed a chunk of my evening to wait in line and then sit in a crowded room for 2 hours with a horde of strangers. The ordeal left me with a greater respect for the ability to downplay buzz and create a great product when everything says that should be impossible. Yes, I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie.
It came to my attention the other day that Louis Vuitton is seeking damages from an artist who apparently infringed on their brand in a recent campaign to raise money for Darfur through the sale of t-shirts. The case itself has been discussed at length elsewhere, and I’ve already explained what L-V should do moving forward over on Smarter Markets.
